what things to check when buying an used car

ohhh, evil cars! we are gonna get one when we arrive to uy so i was talking with my auto-mechanic teacher about what things to check in a used car.
- look under the car for leaks. Sometimes is just a small leak so is good to try to touch under the car to feel if there is any fluid coming out.
- very important and obvious, drive it and hear for “weird sounds”
- check hoses to see if they are soft and cracked. If they are soft then it means that the engine is over-heating
- check the fluids to see if they are clean and on the right levels
- check the tires
Worst used car I ever saw had a split hose leaking petrol from the carb feed onto the engine block - switching that one off when I asked was the fastest I ever saw a car salesman move! It’s sort of worrying when I know more about the engine than a guy who works full-time with cars.
